junior week feb. 12, 2026

charger + keyboard

blew up a fuse to start the week. guess this battery charger isn't gonna be fixed. i'm calling it a day on that one before i blow something else up.

blown fuse

the 3d printer finally was free, so i printed the new keycaps (realizing i forgot to take photos) but umm.. they all fit well and look better, so i started resin printing.

or at least i thought i did. what the fuck is this?

failed resin print

because of that i don't have a finished resin print yet. gonna have it tmr. hopefully the resin gods are kinder to me then.

steno

while waiting for the nonexistent resin print, i decided to just preemptively start my next project—a uni v4 clone (see stenokeyboards.com for more info). doing this just for fun and testing kb2040 capabilities. also wanna learn steno and i don't wanna pay for a keyboard.

created the schematic and started placing things, just to realize i fucked up.

randomly, my computer rebooted and i lost all my progress while placing components on the 2d pcb.

software error

so i had a shit ton of recovery documents that would refuse to link to the schematic, leading to incorrect backtracking and everything. so i remade the pcb for a second time.

pcb second attempt

just to realize my pcb is wrong... again.

pcb alignment error

as you can see, those holes aren't gonna line up with the switch.

so i had to create the pcb for the third time. persistence is key, right?

pcb fixed version

finally done, so i started creating a "case." it's just gonna be a pcb plate + an acrylic (maybe aluminum) backplate for a very minimal design. something like this:

gotta lock back in next week for the keyboard. got some nice progress on a new project tho.
